As we are about to enter the last month of winter, we thought now would be a good time to talk about the proper way of getting the feet ready for spring. After all, our poor feet have suffered enough, crammed in tight winter boots, and it is about time we took proper care for them. This way, by the time the spring shoes hit the stores, our feet will be ready to be displayed.
1. Check for corns and calluses
During the winter, it can be very easy to neglect our feet, so you might be dealing with some corns and calluses that you haven’t noticed yet. We advise you to carefully examine your feet and look for all possible skin problems. Mild corns and calluses can easily be removed with an exfoliation treatment. However, if you are dealing with very think, maybe even painful, corns and calluses, you should go to a dermatologist to get some proper treatment.
2. Schedule a foot spa
Foot spas are the most relaxing procedures that you can get done at a beauty salon. Nowadays, most beauty salons have modern pedicure chairs with whirlpool or jet systems where you can soak your feet to soften the hard skin and open your pores. After the feet are properly soaked, the next part of the foot spa is the exfoliation, which gets rid of all the dead skin cells. This is usually followed by a massage with an intensively hydrating foot lotion.
3. Apply lotion daily
Most of us use face and body lotions on a daily basis, but we rarely use any lotion on our feet. There are a lot of great foot lotions that can do wonders for your feet and you should apply it daily in order to get your feet ready for spring. Apply the lotion when you go to bed and put on a pair of warm cotton socks in order for the lotion to work better. You could also apply a foot mask every week for a boost of hydration.
4. Get a pedicure
Last but not least, the pedicure is the finishing touch for perfect feet. If you are not a fan of colored nail polish, opt for a natural nail design. For a perfect pedicure, we advise you to schedule an appointment at a nail care salon. If you are lucky, you might get your nails done in a modern pedicure chair with a full body massage system. Nowadays, most nail care salons use these modern pedicure thrones, as they make the pedicure procedure a lot more relaxing. A salon pedicure might be a tad expensive, but your feet deserve some pampering, especially after being neglected all winter.
